4 Game-Day Dips For Your Dog

Football is great and all but let’s be real, the best part of Superbowl Sunday is the snacks—specifically, the dips. We’re pretty sure your pup would agree. Football is great and all but let’s be real, the best part of Superbowl Sunday is the snacks—specifically, the dips. We’re pretty sure your pup would agree. But instead of sneaking him some of your favorite nacho cheese dip, feed him a snack you can feel good about. The dips below are delicious and healthy. Plus, they’re super easy to whip up!

The Dip: Creamy Potato Dip with Peas and Carrots

Loaded with vitamin C, iron, and magnesium, potatoes are good for your pup in moderation—and when paired with peas and carrots, they make for a delicious, nutrient-dense dip.

Recipe

3 Yukon Gold potatoes
¼ cup chicken or beef broth
¼ cup frozen pea and carrots

Sprinkle of your pup’s favorite cheese (optional)

  1. Boil potatoes, drain, and mash.
  2. Add broth to the potatoes. Mix.
  3. Cook vegetables (steam, boil or microwave them) and add them to the mixture. Stir.
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top or mix in.
  5. Serve.

Pairs well with: Ollie Savory Beef Strips

Who doesn’t love steak and potatoes? Made with 100% human grade beef, our Savory Beef Strips are a tasty and healthy pairing for this potato-based dip.

The Dip: Sweet Cinnamon-Honey Dip

Yogurt is packed with probiotics, which aids digestion (for both pups and humans!) When paired with honey and cinnamon, it becomes an irresistible dip for your pup (or you—we won’t judge!)

Recipe

½ cup plain yogurt (no sugar added)

1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon regular honey

  1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients together.
  2. Serve.

Pairs well with: Ollie Sweet Potato Slices

Think of them as healthy potato chips for your pup (or you!). And since sweet potatoes and cinnamon are a match made in heaven, they’re the perfect chip for this dip! (Got a dog who loves sweet potatoes? Check out more of our favorite sweet potato treats.)

The Dip: Savory Three-Cheese Dip

Instead of letting your pup steal some of your nacho cheese dip, give them this healthy (and tasty!) alternative. Cheese is great source of protein and calcium—just be sure to keep portions in check since it’s also high in fat.

Recipe

½ cup plain cottage cheese

¼ cup of your pup’s favorite cheese (we suggest mozzarella)

¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese

  1. In a bowl, mix the three cheeses together.
  2. Serve.

Pairs Well With: Tasty Chicken Strips

Cheese goes well with…well, pretty much everything. But it’s especially tasty with our crunchy, 100% human-grade chicken strips. Don’t be surprised if your pup begs for seconds!

The Dip: Thanksgiving-Lovers Dip

Thanksgiving may be over but your pup will still love the pumpkin (or sweet potato) base of this dip. We love pumpkin for our pups because it helps keep their weight down and aids digestion. Here, it’s paired with rice and Brussels sprouts for a healthy carb-and-fiber combo.

Recipe

½ cup canned pumpkin or sweet potato puree

¼ cup cooked rice

¼ cup Brussels sprouts

  1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Boil or steam the Brussels sprouts.
  2. Mix the rice and Brussels sprouts with the canned pumpkin or sweet potato.
  3. Place in a bowl, and serve.

Pairs well with: Trusty Turkey Strips

Because Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without Turkey, we’re pairing this dip with our Trusty Turkey Strips, which are lean, mean, and packed with protein.
