We hear from humans almost every day about how our food has made their pups healthier and happier (and exponentially more excited about mealtime.) In this series, we’ll share some of the stories that make us especially proud to fill dogs’ bowls with wholesome goodness.

For the Kristy Patterson and her daughter Elizabeth Kincaid, Ollie has become a real family affair: It all started with Kristy’s three Blenheim Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Jack, Sophie and Charlotte. She had been feeding them a combination of regular kibble and canned food, but most of it ended up in the trash. She discovered Ollie online and has seen a big difference in all of her dogs, particularly with Charlotte, who had eleven teeth extracted after being rescued.

Ollie has been especially helpful for Sophie, who developed an unidentifiable autoimmune disease which resulted in damage to the muscles used for opening and closing her mouth as well as chewing. At the same time, she inexplicably went into acute kidney failure and nearly died. The vet offered to euthanize her, but after three days of antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and other meds, her kidney function recovered. She does have some kidney damage and still does not have complete function of her jaw muscles, and she remains on a daily dose of steroids. Kristy chose Ollie because she thought it would be a kidney-friendly and easily chewable food for Sophie.

For all of Kristy’s dogs, every meal is preceded by "ecstatic tail wagging, spinning, and dancing. They lick their bowls clean every single time." She says her family has had other dogs over the years, and she’s never seen them so excited about eating.

Kristy’s daughter, Elizabeth, was so impressed, she started giving Ollie to her energetic sixteen-month old Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Georgia. She had been eating a mix of dehydrated and raw food before, but wasn’t particularly excited at mealtime. Now when she sees Elizabeth getting out the tray of Ollie, "she does a happy, tail-wagging dance and devours it in less than a minute. She never reacted that way to the other foods she tried and is now an enthusiastic eater every single time."

Kristy and Elizabeth say they really like the freshness of Ollie and the convenience of it being delivered to their doors. "Ollie is the best decision we have made for our dogs."
